Perched next to a gentle stream in Northumberland’s Kielder Forest and with its own private hot tub, No.3 Burnside is a three-bedroom self-catered lodge like no other. There’s plenty of space for six guests and up to two well behaved dogs, alongside subtle accessibility features woven throughout.

What this accommodation offers

Park up and make your way onto your own private decking before heading inside. Wrapped by the trees of Kielder Forest, it’s the perfect spot to pause for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

Next, settle into the living room. A flat screen TV and Blu-Ray player, super-fast Wi-Fi and central heating throughout make it a comfortable space to unwind after a day exploring the forest, whatever the weather’s doing outside.

Rustle up a home-cooked meal in the fully fitted kitchen, complete with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Or fire up the barbeque stand on your terrace and dine alfresco instead. Whatever your choice, the in-built dishwasher takes care of the washing-up afterwards – you’re on holiday, after all.

Head back out onto your covered terrace, where the sights and sounds of Kielder Forest surround you. By day, watch the wildlife go by or fire up the barbeque. By night, sink into your private hot tub and let the day melt away beneath the trees.

Bathrooms

Freshen up in the bathroom, which includes both bath and shower, along with an adjustable sink for easy access. A bath hoist is also available on request for those who need it. A separate additional toilet means no queuing on busy mornings, however many of the household are up and about.

Drop your bags in one of three bedrooms. The king room offers a relaxing retreat, while one of the two further twin rooms comes fitted with a tracked hoist leading to a profiling bed, giving guests who need it both comfort and independence (please bring your own loop sling, as one isn’t provided). A third twin room rounds out the space. Beds are made up ready for your arrival, with fresh linen, duvets and towels provided throughout.
