Disabled children and adults should have the opportunity to take part in fun and challenging activities and be part of a world that most of us take for granted. Every day our amazing care and instructor teams help to transform the lives of people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities. Families, friends and carers are included to make sure everyone can join in and benefit from the fun and adventure.
It costs £2million annually to run our centre and we want it to be available to everyone. With your support, we can help the most financially vulnerable and disadvantaged people to meet the cost of a life-changing visit.
Virgin Money London Marathon

Appeals
To make sure our service is available to people of all walks of life, we try to keep our prices as affordable as we can. This means we have a funding gap of between £300k and £400k every year which we need to meet from fundraising. Our regular benefactors and donors never let us down and through their generosity we have been delivering our life-changing activities for over 35 years.

Imagine having a disability and living every day of your life being told “you can’t do this” or “you’re not able to do that”. Then one day you discover a place where everyone says “it’s what you CAN do that counts” and “I’ll help you to do that”…you’ve just arrived at Calvert Kielder.
What your money can buy…
£50 buys a child’s lifejacket to keep them safe when sailing and kayaking
£100 buys three harnesses to take part in climbing, swinging and zipping
£250 buys two sets of waterproofs and boots for our guests to use; well it is Kielder after all!
£500 pays for a short break for a family with a disabled parent or child
£750 buys a new canoe for exploring Kielder Water
£1,000 buys a mobile hoist so guests can transfer from their wheelchair to the activities
£10,000 provides a subsidy of £35 per person per night for 285 disadvantaged or disabled people

Without the generosity of our supporters, many disabled adults and children wouldn’t have the opportunity to experience a life changing visit to our centre; taking part in exciting and challenging activities they never thought possible.
