We are are thrilled to announce the return of our Calvert Bike event.
The bike ride, which is sponsored by Newcastle-based law firm Sintons, will take place on the 17 May 2020 around the shoreline of Kielder Water and guarantees breath-taking scenery as well as a great day out.
Cyclists of all ages and abilities can take part and can choose from a 5.5, 11 or 26 mile route to raise funds in aid of the charity and the families it supports.
We work to provide adventurous outdoor activities for disabled children and adults. Funds raised from the bike ride will directly support residential breaks for disabled children and adults.
Peter Cockerill, CEO, at Calvert Kielder said:
“Our sponsored bike ride offers cyclists an exhilarating and fun-filled day that helps to make a difference to the lives of people with disabilities.
Last year we raised more than £7k which enabled us to support 30 respite breaks for disabled children and adults.
The respite breaks encourage and enable disabled children and adults to push their boundaries and participate in thrilling outdoor adventurous activities, which has a profound effect on their self-confidence.”
Having seen first-hand the positive impact Calvert Kielder has on the lives of disabled people and their families, Sintons will again be sponsoring the cycling event.
John Davis, one of the UK’s leading serious injury lawyers and consultant in Sintons’ specialist neurotrauma team, said:
“We are delighted to be backing the Calvert Bike event again this year. Calvert Kielder is a fantastic charity that continues to enrich the lives of so many individuals. I’m looking forward to taking part in the event along with my colleagues and raising much-needed funds for a much-loved charity.”
